With the recent wet weather there were no surprises that only two fixtures survived this weekend, both in the Kent Cup and played on artificial 3G pitches. Willesborough Athletic Reserves and Givaudan both progressed to the full county fifth round of the Kent Sunday Junior Trophy beating local league opposition in Fox Sunday and Ashford Cavaliers respectively.
Willesborough saw off Fox 6-2 after the fixture was switched to Willesborough's ground at the Towers School, and now face a tricky away trip to Valley Rovers Reserves. The Millers went ahead early on when Ryan Carter met Matt Jarvis' cross with a bullet header to beat Fox goalkeeper Lee Revell at his near post, but experienced forward Tom Wilmshurst levelled for the pub side soon after racing on to a long ball and slotting the ball home.
Two more Ryan Carter strikes within a minute of each other saw the young striker complete his first-half hat-trick and put Willesborough 3-1 up, but Fox once again found a way back to reduce the deficit to 3-2 at the break when Adam Ready smashed home in-off the upright just before half-time.
Carter added his and Willesborough's fourth early in the second-half to all but seal the victory as the Fox started to tire, and additional strikes from Jarvis and the impressive Tom Wilkes saw Wilesborough score a fifth and sixth to join their first team in the county cup fifth round.
At Pitchside, Givaudan beat Division Two side Ashford Cavaliers 3-1 to set up a last-16 tie against Westgate thanks to strikes from Jack Holloway, Mark Hopkinson and Darren Sutton, Matt Gomez netting for Cavaliers.
